Email signing and encrypting

Encrypt and sign emails to reduce interception and spoofing. Mailit supports PGP and S/MIME to encrypt emails and attachments using the recipient’s public key—so only recipients with the matching private key can decrypt them. You can also digitally sign messages to prove authenticity and help recipients verify the sender and detect tampering.

Enhanced: IMAP

Mailit provides advanced IMAP features for professional mailbox workflows. Manage folders, upload messages to remote folders, and search messages by criteria such as “from”, “since”, and “unread”.

Mailit 11 improves IMAP message downloading and processing (including server-side scripts) and optimizes memory usage for better stability when working with large mailboxes and attachments.

NEW: Microsoft Graph API

MailIt 11 adds REST support for Microsoft 365 mailboxes via the Microsoft Graph API.

Connect using Emai_Connect with the new connection type graphRest and continue using MailIt’s existing workflow.

Supported operations include listing/selecting folders, loading messages, moving/deleting messages, and sending via Graph where supported.

NEW: Gmail REST API

MailIt 11 adds REST support for Gmail via the Gmail API while keeping the familiar MailIt workflow.

Connect using Emai_Connect with the new connection type gmailRest — no separate REST-only function set is required.

Supported operations include listing labels/folders, selecting folders, loading messages, deleting/moving messages, adding/removing labels including INBOX, SENT, TRASH, and SPAM, and uploading messages to Gmail.

Migration note: when switching between IMAP and REST, limit downloads by date/time to avoid re-downloading older messages.

Amazon SES (Simple Email Service) support

n addition to SMTP, Mailit lets you relay personalized emails via Amazon SES (AWS SES)—a strong option for high-volume sending. Mailit includes an AWS SES example app to help you get started quickly.Learn more about Amonzon SES.

Feed email data to FileMaker® in the background

Mailit enables true background processing for email workflows. Send and receive emails in the background—and automatically feed incoming email data into FileMaker® without blocking the user interface.

Outgoing emails can be picked up and delivered in the background as well, keeping your FileMaker® solution responsive while Mailit processes mail behind the scenes (including on FileMaker Server).

Helper features

Mailit includes helper features to simplify implementation and improve the user experience—for example:



• Add multiple attachments via drop zones
• Manage updating the plug-in and additional files from within FileMaker®
• Import raw message content into FileMaker®
• Check license/registration status from the plug-in

Platform features

Mailit runs on Windows and macOS for FileMaker® Pro, and supports FileMaker® Server on Windows, macOS, and Ubuntu Linux (supported OS versions depend on your FileMaker Server release).

FileMaker Server can also be deployed on Ubuntu using Docker in supported configurations.

HTML Composing

Mailit provides powerful HTML editors loaded via the FileMaker® Web Viewer.
Compose professional emails directly inside your FileMaker® solution—just like in a real email client. Add images and rich content, and build clean layouts for transactional emails and mailings. Inline images can be inserted via drag & drop.

Enhanced: email custom apps

Mailit comes with example apps that demonstrate end-to-end email workflows in FileMaker®, including background processing and FileMaker Server use. Examples cover multi-account setups and common mailbox scenarios.

New in Mailit 11: REST support for Gmail and Microsoft 365 (Graph) is included while preserving the familiar Mailit workflow—so existing solutions can migrate gradually. Mailit 11 also improves performance for message downloading and processing and optimizes memory usage for better stability in large mailboxes and server-side scripts.

HTML Viewing

Mailit improves the rendering of incoming HTML emails. HTML emails can be displayed in a FileMaker® Web Viewer the way the author intended—supporting images and modern layouts.

Mailit provides a powerful HTML editor—loaded via the FileMaker® Web Viewer—that lets you build professional email layouts based on templates (ideal for mailings and branded messages).

OAuth 2.0 & Latest Security

Mailit supports OAuth 2.0 for modern email providers and secure connections for sending and receiving email. Use OAuth 2.0 with Google and Microsoft—including SMTP/IMAP/POP, Gmail REST API, and Microsoft Graph API.

Mailit also supports secure connections with modern TLS (including TLS 1.3 where required) and advanced SMTP authentication options—helping your FileMaker® email workflows stay compatible with today’s security requirements.
