Mailit 11 introduces a new license model

With Mailit 11, we are introducing a new and more predictable license model for Mailit customers.

Every new Mailit 11 license and every Mailit 11 upgrade now includes a 12 months Update Entitlement. During this period, customers receive all Mailit updates, compatibility releases and new Mailit versions published within their entitlement period. The license itself remains perpetual: you can continue using the licensed version permanently, even after the Update Entitlement has expired.


After the initial 12 months, customers can renew their Update Entitlement for another 12 months while their current entitlement is still active. Renewal is available at 50% of the current list price of the corresponding Mailit license, making it more predictable and cost-effective to stay current.


An active Update Entitlement is required to receive future Mailit updates, compatibility releases and new Mailit versions.


If the entitlement expires, the Mailit license remains perpetual. Customers can continue using the Mailit version they are licensed for, but access to newly released versions is no longer included and the expired entitlement cannot be renewed retroactively. To receive future Mailit versions again, a new full Mailit license is required.


This is a change from the previous Mailit license model. Before Mailit 11, Mailit was sold as a perpetual license with major version upgrades released when needed, for example to maintain compatibility with new FileMaker versions or to introduce larger new feature sets. These major version upgrades were purchased separately and did not follow a fixed annual entitlement cycle.


The new model makes future planning easier. Customers can now see clearly when their Update Entitlement starts and ends, and they can plan renewals around their own FileMaker upgrade cycles, server updates and development schedules.


The 12 months Update Entitlement starts with Mailit 11. It applies to Mailit 11 licenses and Mailit 11 upgrades only and does not apply retroactively to Mailit 10 or earlier licenses.


As a transition benefit, customers who purchased or upgraded to Mailit 10 from March 2026 qualify for a free upgrade to Mailit 11. In addition, discounted Mailit 11 upgrade pricing is available to existing Mailit customers until December 31, 2026.
